The new GM of the Oilers has been putting his stamp all over this team and completely changing the way the franchise looks. He has made several deal already only a few games into the season.
The deals he has made have invovled pretty big name players and i beleive they have made the team a much better team then before.
Some of the players traded involve long time forwards Shawn Horcoff and Fernando Pisani, defensemen like Sheldon Souray.
It is sad to see the players go but it had to be done to help the team short term and long term. With most of the teams players being under the age of 30 it seems the club should have a bright present and future.
Some of the players aquired include, Thomas Vanek the speedy scoring left winger, young goaltender Jon Quick and speedy but small Marek Svatos.
"I am very happy to be joining a club with the histoy that Edmonton has, to play with such good players and a great coach in Quinn. I will enjoy my stay here" said Vanek shortley after the trade
The Oil have long been looking for someone with a scoring touch to play with Hemsky on the top line and they have finally found it.
The Gm says all the deals he has made have made him satisfied with his team and that there shouldnt be very many more deals other then maybe one more center to add to the mix.
